Yes to the good stuff No to the bad stuff!

This week I have been trying to focus on clean eating and falling into a better exercise schedule. I am happy to report I have been successful so far!

I can't take full credit to my successful week. I recently stumbled on Fooducate, an app that will suggest healthier options when it comes to packaged foods.  It is as simple as scanning a bar code. The item will pop up along with helpful tips and a letter grade. If the item has a chemical or preservative that we should stay away from, it will also be listed.

We do not eat a lot of packaged food because it is hard to know what is in everything. I get freaked out and put it back on the shelf. This week, I brought along all the knowledge in Fooducate and scanned everything that went into the cart! If there was a better option, I took it. I also threw a lot of our pantry items out and I'm sorry to say, Rich is no longer going to buy Ritz crackers. Instead, we will be replacing the cracker craving with Blue Diamond Almond Nut Thins!

I know I am a crazy person, and I have accepted it.

Yesterday I popped into Whole Foods (one of my happy places) and enjoyed strolling through the isles of goodies. I know it was only WEDNESDAY, but I deserved a treat. We all need to treat ourselves for good behavior and my behavior has been excellent.... except for not running last night because it is too cold. Rich and I agreed on buying a small snack to share. And when I say snack, I mean gelato!

I used to live right down the street from Whole Foods and gelato was our go to snack date. I don't know how they do it, but WF has the best selection of gelato in the whole city! We left very happy with our treat. I settled on pineapple sherbet which was excellent.

Today will be a true test; there are treats at the office for a birthday. I will be strong and politely decline. Wish me luck!
