Aside from that, the Indianapolis “Indy Mini” is quickly approaching! This will be my first half marathon where I am totally healthy for two years! I am looking for a PR and I will take no prisoners! My race goal is to hold back for the first half of the race to a conversational pace and kick it into high gear for the second half. As Coach Jenny says, I’ll wait until the final three miles until I go fishing! Now I also really need the weather to cooperate! We have had some really nice running weather in the last few weeks. Maybe it will continue!

My workout schedule hasn’t been jammed packed with a ton of running, but I am doing a lot of cross training and strength training. This sort of conditioning is something I am not familiar with but it is what I should be doing. It has made me a stronger runner when I am out there on my long runs and my weekly runs have been noticeably faster. I love to see results like this. I am greatly motivated by reaching my goals. I really want to keep this up over the summer and slash some serious time off of my marathon!
