In 251 days from today, I will be running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! I am so excited for this summer to unfold. It has been a hard fall and winter and I am more than ready to start building myself up again!
This year, I signed up to Run for Prentice. It is a racing team that will raise money for Friends of Prentice women’s clinic at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. This organization is important to me because it keeps me employed for a good part of the year :) I work for a wonderful woman who has helped build this organization from the ground up. Every summer, she hosts a Friends of Prentice black tie ball which I am fortunate to help coordinate. I love that my job helps so many women and I want to take that to the next level. Because I cannot afford a ticked to Prentice Palooza this year.... I will direct my efforts to raising funds for this awesome organization. Here’s a little snippet from the Prentice website:
Friends of Prentice has focused on the mission of saving lives of women and infants, bringing difficult pregnancies to successful birth, advancing research on several fronts critical to women and improving the quality of life for health-challenged families. Since 1986, Friends of Prentice, through its generous supporters, sponsors and board members, has raised over $14 million to fund programs and capital projects at Prentice Women’s Hospital.
For the remainder of my 251 days, I will focus on building strength and endurance while helping a cause that changes lives every day. Please let me know if you would like to help me out.
I am very much looking forward to being your "partner in fundraising" crime!! Keep up the great work!! 10-10-10!!!
