Product Review! Yogitoes Skidless Mat

Over the past few weeks, I have discovered a new love of yoga.  I have practiced yoga off and on over the last few years, but never have I really enjoyed it.  I think at the time I didn’t fully know how to use my practice to my benefit.  Yoga was nothing more than a workout to me.  That being said, I have opened my heart to my yoga practice and I love it!  I am learning, building strength and cross training at the same time!!

Recently, I bought the Yogitoes Skidless Towel because I slip and slide all over my mat.  I researched a few different yoga towels and decided on the Yogitoes.  What makes this towel special is the little silicone nubbies (I’m sure there is a patented name for them) sprinkled all over the back of the towel.  These nubbies stick to the floor or a yoga mat like glue!  The Yogitoes towel is specifically made for heated yoga, because the more moisture the towel holds, the stickier it becomes (it is just as magical in a non heated class!).  Another benefit of this towel is it acts as a barrier between you and the yoga mat.  It either protects your personal mat which prolongs its life, or acts as a sanitized barrier between you and the not so clean studio’s yoga mat.  The towel is machine washable, but does not dry fast enough to use the next day.

With my Yogitoes on my mat, I immediately felt the difference after my first down dog.  I was not straining my body to stay in what is considered a resting position.  As the class progressed, I didn’t have to worry about my sweaty hands and feet collapsing under me!  I didn’t have to focus on how I was going to get through the next position.

I give the Yogitoes Skidless Towel four and a half out of five stars.  I take a half star away because they are a little pricey.  The suggested retail price is $64.00 but if you do a little digging, you can find one at a much thriftier price!  The Yogitoes towel is great for all levels of practice and I highly recommend it for anyone who needs a little extra stick!
