It has been a few weeks now that I started the ‘Magazine Challenge.’ It basically consists of working out in different heart rate zones and adding in some weight exercises (and eating healthy of course).
So far, I have seen small improvements, but nothing drastic enough to get me in a bikini by May first! I have also been reminded that I am a crazy person who works out most days a week. I would have to give this workout plan a poor review. I am working as hard as I can be and see little to no improvements.... A normally sane person who works out moderately would probably get the same depressing results. If I kept this up, I might get the desired results by July.
Working out in 'zones' is a very smart and healthy way to work out. Do a variety of workouts at different cardiac levels for optimal calorie burn. This is the only great thing I got out of the plan.
I hate to say that these plans don’t work because I do not want to sound like I am opposed to exercise. I think exercise is very important to our lives. What is wrong about these work out plans is that they deliver false messages and cause self esteem problems among women. Most women would give a “bikini body plan’ a try and get extremely discouraged with what they think is a reasonable feat.
In my opinion that really doesn’t mean much, I think women should stick to a reasonable diet and exercise at least five hours a week. Love who you are and accept everything as it is.
