A new year, a fresh start.

It is a new year to set some new goals. My first goal I am going to set for myself will be to run 1000 miles this year. I think it is more than obtainable if I stay healthy. It works out to be about 20 miles a week. I would also like to keep myself accountable on here. Ha. That will be more difficult than the miles.

On the list of races is the Chicago Marathon again. I need to seek revenge on the blasted race (then I will be able to properly put it behind me). I would love to take 45 minutes to an hour off my time. I will need to work on my form to stay injury free and this spring and summer will be the time for speed work.  Another race that is always on my calendar is the Soldier Field 10 Mile. It is my favorite race in Chicago. It is so well organized and easy to train for. I am going to test the waters of being a pacer for the CES training. It is a short training season and isn’t a massive commitment if I figure out I cannot handle it.

Believe deep down in your heart that you can do great things. Its a new year to try something new. See you on the path!
