When I was a senior in high school, my dad had a heart attack at the age of 48. Fortunately, he survived and is still around today. I’m not quite sure if the rest of our lives would have gone on without him. Today, he is striving to live a healthier life. My dad’s heart disease is a constant reminder that there is a very good chance of me following in his footsteps. Heart disease is genetic and I have genetically high cholesterol. Thanks dad!
One in three women will die of heart disease. I am a nut about health and nutrition because of personal experiences. I know what will happen to me if I am not careful about how I treat myself. Exercising regularly and being mindful about your diet will help eliminate your chances of developing heart disease.
Go to this link to find out how heart healthy you are. I scored a 9.5! The .5 came off because of my high cholesterol. I’ve talked to my physician about it (freaked out in her office is more precise) and she assured me I am healthy. The key is keeping the good cholesterol levels (HDL) up, which I am a master in that category. Avocados anyone?
Here is how I scored on the heart health test. Give it a try and let me know how you score!
Wherever you go.... go with all your heart. Happy Friday!

Great Post Sarah! This is something that scares me too! It runs in my dad's family as well and I have a heart murmur. I am going to take this test! Avacados are so yummy!!!
